Assignments
Assignments let students apply what they have learned by completing practical tasks and submitting their work for review. Euron Systems supports file uploads, text submissions, rubric-based grading, and peer review.
Creating an Assignment
- In your course curriculum, click Add Lesson → Assignment.
- Configure the assignment:
- Title — Clear, descriptive name
- Instructions — Detailed instructions with rich text formatting
- Submission Type — File upload, text entry, link, or combination
- Due Date — Optional deadline for submissions
- Max Score — Total points available
- File Types — Restrict accepted file formats (e.g., .pdf, .zip, .py)
- Max File Size — Limit per file (up to 100 MB)
Grading Assignments
Manual Grading
- Go to Course → Assignments → Submissions.
- Click on a student's submission to review it.
- View the submitted files or text inline.
- Enter a score and written feedback.
- Click Submit Grade — the student is notified automatically.
Rubric Grading
Create a rubric for consistent evaluation:
- When creating the assignment, click Add Rubric.
- Define criteria (e.g., "Code Quality", "Documentation", "Creativity").
- For each criterion, define performance levels with point values.
- When grading, simply select the performance level for each criterion.
- The total score is calculated automatically.
Example Rubric:
| Criterion | Excellent (10) | Good (7) | Adequate (5) | Poor (2) |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Code Quality | Clean, efficient, well-structured | Mostly clean with minor issues | Functional but messy | Broken or unreadable |
| Documentation | Comprehensive docs and comments | Good docs, some gaps | Minimal documentation | No documentation |
| Functionality | All requirements met, extra features | All requirements met | Most requirements met | Missing key features |
Peer Review
Enable peer review so students can evaluate each other's work:
- In assignment settings, toggle Enable Peer Review.
- Set the number of peers each student reviews (typically 2-3).
- After the submission deadline, the system automatically assigns reviews.
- Students grade their peers using the same rubric.
- The final grade can be a combination of instructor and peer grades.
Tracking Submissions
The submissions dashboard shows:
- Total submissions vs. total enrolled students
- On-time vs. late submissions
- Graded vs. pending submissions
- Average score and distribution
