Assignments

Assignments let students apply what they have learned by completing practical tasks and submitting their work for review. Euron Systems supports file uploads, text submissions, rubric-based grading, and peer review.

Creating an Assignment

  1. In your course curriculum, click Add Lesson → Assignment.
  2. Configure the assignment:
    • Title — Clear, descriptive name
    • Instructions — Detailed instructions with rich text formatting
    • Submission Type — File upload, text entry, link, or combination
    • Due Date — Optional deadline for submissions
    • Max Score — Total points available
    • File Types — Restrict accepted file formats (e.g., .pdf, .zip, .py)
    • Max File Size — Limit per file (up to 100 MB)

Grading Assignments

Manual Grading

  1. Go to Course → Assignments → Submissions.
  2. Click on a student's submission to review it.
  3. View the submitted files or text inline.
  4. Enter a score and written feedback.
  5. Click Submit Grade — the student is notified automatically.

Rubric Grading

Create a rubric for consistent evaluation:

  1. When creating the assignment, click Add Rubric.
  2. Define criteria (e.g., "Code Quality", "Documentation", "Creativity").
  3. For each criterion, define performance levels with point values.
  4. When grading, simply select the performance level for each criterion.
  5. The total score is calculated automatically.

Example Rubric:

CriterionExcellent (10)Good (7)Adequate (5)Poor (2)
Code QualityClean, efficient, well-structuredMostly clean with minor issuesFunctional but messyBroken or unreadable
DocumentationComprehensive docs and commentsGood docs, some gapsMinimal documentationNo documentation

Peer Review

Enable peer review so students can evaluate each other's work:

  1. In assignment settings, toggle Enable Peer Review.
  2. Set the number of peers each student reviews (typically 2-3).
  3. After the submission deadline, the system automatically assigns reviews.
  4. Students grade their peers using the same rubric.
  5. The final grade can be a combination of instructor and peer grades.

Tracking Submissions

The submissions dashboard shows:

  • Total submissions vs. total enrolled students
  • On-time vs. late submissions
  • Graded vs. pending submissions
  • Average score and distribution
