Last Active — When they last accessed the platform
Device & Location — Where and how they access content

Cohort Analysis

View students as a group:

Active vs. Inactive — Students who accessed content recently vs. dormant
Engagement Score — Composite score based on video views, quiz attempts, and forum activity
Progress Distribution — How far students have progressed through the course
Completion Funnel — Drop-off points in the course curriculum

Retention Metrics

Day 1 Retention — Percentage who return the day after enrolling
Week 1 Retention — Percentage active during the first week
30-Day Retention — Active within 30 days of enrollment
Lifetime Retention — Long-term engagement trends

At-Risk Students

The system automatically flags students who may need intervention:

No Activity in 7+ Days — Student has not accessed any content
Stuck on a Lesson — Student has attempted the same lesson/quiz multiple times without progressing
Low Quiz Scores — Consistently scoring below the passing threshold
Approaching Deadline — Course expiry approaching with low completion

You can configure automated interventions:

Send a reminder email when a student is inactive for X days.
Send an encouragement email when a student completes a milestone.
Notify the instructor when a student is struggling.
