Auto Grading

Euron Systems automatically grades objective-type questions instantly upon submission. This guide explains the scoring rules, negative marking, and grade calculations.

Scoring Rules

Standard Scoring

For single-answer MCQs and True/False questions:

  • Correct Answer — Full marks awarded (e.g., +4)
  • Wrong Answer — Negative marks deducted if enabled (e.g., -1)
  • Unanswered — No marks awarded, no deduction

Multiple Correct Answers

For multi-select MCQs:

  • All Correct — Full marks
  • Partial Correct (Partial Credit On) — Proportional marks (e.g., 2 out of 3 correct = 2/3 of full marks)
  • Partial Correct (Partial Credit Off) — Zero marks unless all correct options are selected
  • Any Wrong Option Selected — Zero marks (or negative marks if enabled)

Numerical Answers

For numerical-type questions:

  • Exact Match — Full marks
  • Within Range — If you set an acceptable range (e.g., ±0.01), answers within the range get full marks
  • Outside Range — Zero marks

Negative Marking

Configure negative marking per test:

Grade Calculation

Percentage Score

The default scoring method: (marks obtained / total marks) × 100

Percentile Ranking

For competitive exams, enable percentile ranking: Percentile = (Number of students scoring below you / Total students) × 100

Section-Wise Cutoffs

For exams with sectional cutoffs:

  1. Define minimum scores for each section.
  2. Students must meet both the overall cutoff and section-wise cutoffs.
  3. The result shows pass/fail status for each section.

Instant Results

When enabled, students see their results immediately after submission:

  • Total score and percentage
  • Rank and percentile (if ranking is enabled)
  • Section-wise breakdown
  • Correct, incorrect, and unanswered counts
  • Detailed solutions for each question
  • Time analysis per question
