Direct Messaging

Direct Messaging (DM) allows students and instructors to communicate privately within the Euron Systems platform. It is useful for personalized support, mentoring, and private discussions.

Features

  • One-to-One Messaging — Private conversations between two users
  • File Sharing — Send images, documents, and files in messages
  • Read Receipts — See when messages are read
  • Message Search — Search across all conversations
  • Notifications — Email and push notifications for new messages
  • Message History — Complete conversation history is preserved
  • Typing Indicators — See when the other person is typing

Enabling Direct Messaging

  1. Go to Settings → Community → Messaging.
  2. Toggle Enable Direct Messaging to on.
  3. Configure settings:
    • Who can initiate messages (students → instructors only, or anyone → anyone)
    • File sharing permissions
    • Maximum message length
    • Notification preferences

Moderation

Admin Controls

  • View all conversations (for compliance and support)
  • Delete inappropriate messages
  • Block users from messaging
  • Export conversation logs

Student Controls

  • Block specific users
  • Report inappropriate messages
  • Mute notifications for specific conversations
